WHAT A SUPER SUNDAY!
Thanks to all of you who came out to the 2nd Annual Marathon Sports Super Sunday 5K/10K race. And a HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful volunteers and sponsors for their help in making the event truly super!

The money we raised on Super Sunday is just the beginning. Stay tuned for news about an exciting new race on Father's Day as well as details about the Run Against Cancer race series, which will unite New England runners in a very meaningful way. Until then, we have a brand new Apple iPod Nano (4gb) and Nike + Sport Kit for the first person to donate at least $200 directly to Livestrong.

Some important post-race information:

Results: We posted preliminary results on Sunday evening. There are some missed chip reads and incorrect ages; we'll have results finalized very soon. Our apologies to those of you who missed out on the awards presentation due to this... we'll make it up to you next year. Promise.

Photos: Many of you have asked about the photographers out on the course... they were from Fotojack. Pctures will be online soon; I'll send all runners an email once they're posted.

Race tshirts & posters: We still have a few race posters and tshirts and are offering them at: $5 for 11" x 17" Race Poster, $10 for heavyweight cotton tshirt and $15 for Nike Dri-FIT tshirts. Please email alain@metlifecycling.com for more info.

Medals & prizes: Starting on Wednesday, Feb. 4th and continuing through Feb. 28th, all unclaimed medals and prizes (top 3 males and females in each age group) can be picked up at Marathon Sports, 671 Boylston Street in Boston.

Referral contest: Congratulations to Boston College student Victoria Flynn for referring the most runners to the race; she wins a $100 gift certificate to Marathon Sports for her efforts. Colleen Trahan wins the $50 certificate and Pete Loncto wins the $25 certificate.

Timing chips: A few of you still have 'em... please return them to New England Timing ASAP to avoid the $50 replacement fee.

Feedback: Compliments or criticism, we welcome and encourage all feedback... it helps us improve future races. Please email: alain@metlifecycling.com

Thanks again for coming out to Super Sunday... and stay tuned for an announcement about our next event, the Father's Day 10K.

5K & 10K Running Races: Chip-timed, USATF sanctioned, certification pending.

The Marathon Sports Super Sunday 5K/10K race offers runners a spectacular tour of Boston's growing Seaport district with amazing waterfront views of the city and harbor. The event starts and finishes at Legal Sea Foods' corporate headquarters, passing Harpoon Brewery, the Bank of America Pavillion and the Seaport World Trade Center. Runners will run through Fan Pier, passing the new ICA (Institute of Contemporary Art) before turning at the beautiful Moakley Federal Courthouse. Next comes a jaunt along the Harborwalk... where stunning panoramic views of downtown Boston's waterfront will rejuvenate runners before the final mile of the race.

One lap of the course is 5km (3.1 miles) long; 10k runners will start at the same time but complete two laps of the course. Runners pass the water station twice per lap on Northern Ave. near the ICA.

The Super Sunday 5K/10K race began in 2008, inspired by a beloved mother's battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. She passed away seven weeks later, but her memory lives on through our race which will raise thousands of dollars for charity. The 2009 Marathon Sports Super Sunday 5K/10K will help the Lance Armstrong Foundation in their battle against cancer.
